More particularly, artstripe no. 5 addresses the relationship between the individual and society. And while the inclusion of quotes from the sociologist Max Weber and the sustainability researcher Donella Meadows demonstrate that the two phenomena can be distinguished on the textual, terminological level, the images - with their “metaphors for the living” - draw an impressive conclusion about their true inseparability.

Tina Frank (*1970)

Tina Frank has been active as a media artist and designer since 1995. Her early work was in the fields of web design and the design of record and CD covers for the Vienna-based experimental music label Mego, with which she first gained international prominence in the mid 1990s. In the following years she intensified her activities in the video and multimedia areas, underlining her reputation as an exceptional visual designer. In the book “Graphic Design for the 21st Century”, Tina Frank was named by the publishers TASCHEN as one of the “world’s best hundred graphic designers”

The Vienna-based artist has led the Graphic Design class at the University of Art and Design in Linz since the winter term of 2008/09.
