Peter Felder (*1960)
Based in Vorarlberg, Peter Felder is one of Austria’s most individualistic designers. A classic graphic designer who still works by hand and, almost exclusively, with print, he produces everyday graphics at the highest (artistic) level. His focus is the ceaselessly challenging search for maximum simplicity. A feeling for the essential, a balance between form and content, objectivity and sensibility and a relentless search for perfection are the distinguishing features of a highly varied oeuvre which Felder develops in constant dialogue with clients with whom he has often worked for decades. The spectrum of his work reaches from precise images for regional social initiatives such as the Vorarlberg Helpline and renowned cultural organisations such as the Bildungshaus Batschuns to the design of memorable posters and of innovative fonts – such as that for the Ringsportzentrum West in Götzis.
