Sunrises and sunsets are amongst not only today’s most photographed motifs but also the most popular images of art history.

By finely calibrating the progression of two colours the photographic artist creates a horizon which oscillates between image and abstraction and which not only represents the magical moment of awakening and recommencement but also enables the appropriate atmosphere to be created in Accenture’s offices.

Timotheus Tomicek (*1978)

graduated from the photography course of the Federal Educational and Research Institute for Graphic Design and the Kodak Masterclass in Budapest and studied at the film academies in Vienna and Paris. Skilful games with perception, an ironic approach to the icons of art history and fresh views of putatively well-known phenomena feature amongst the characteristics of the work of the versatile artist.
The artist has principally worked internationally since 2009 and is represented by the Jenkins Johnson Gallery in New York.
