The design concept for the office and library in their exposed position on the Erste Campus took advantage of the transparency of the façade in order to communicate the complex contents in a straightforward way and on a number of levels. For example, central information on the external surface provides orientation while easily replaceable analogue displays and illuminated boxes in the cavity of the double façade offer insights into the various activities and invite passers-by to visit the foyer or the extensive library.

Two large-format displays in this foyer present visitors with more detailed information about concrete projects. While up-to-date information is regularly passed on to the What’s Up-Station, visitors can also use a touchscreen to navigate individually through a selected project portfolio.
Specially developed displays for brochures and posters ensure that the productions of ERSTE Foundation are effectively presented and received. The spatial limitations of the foyer, library and workspaces of ERSTE Foundation and the Kontakt collection are supported by a discreet system of orientation and offer enough scope for the development of an office culture defined by esprit and ethos, flexibility and hospitality.
The interaction between the various surfaces and the spatial depth generates – by day and, most particularly, by night – a constantly changing image that guarantees ERSTE Foundation a powerful presence on the Erste Campus.
