Reed Kram
Stockholm

Reed Kram works as an engineer and designer, researcher and teacher. An American based in Europe, he was a founding member of the legendary Aesthetics & Computation Group of the MIT Media Lab, working alongside the group’s director John Maeda on numerous research projects, in particular in the area of interactivity.

Another of Kram’s focuses - the relationship between new media and architecture - can be seen in the series of interactive spaces which he has not only designed but also built. His ongoing cooperation with the Rotterdam-based Office for Metropolitan Architecture (OMA) has enabled him to apply the results of his research work in a range of complex projects aimed at a mass public, including Seattle Central Library and the Epicenter Stores of the fashion house Prada in New York and Los Angeles for which he developed interactive media applications.
