A project of such a scale in such a central location has a particularly high public profile and this campaign, which will continue until the completion of Wien Mitte in 2012, is a response to the intense level of public interest in the development. Renowned Austrian artists were invited to use their own individual approaches to interpret the location and the ongoing construction process in a series of adverts in leading Austrian print media. At the suggestion of Liquid Frontiers a group of artists was selected who represent very different genres yet share an affinity for - and an ability to effectively use – the mass media. Beyond being a simple image campaign, these adverts cast light on unusual aspects of a project which, for its part, presents the artists with an unusual challenge.
